Aluminum Rail Buffing System

Cycle: 2 or 4 rails per cycle

This system was developed to buff rough edges on the visible face of an extrusion. The rough edges are usually caused by a punching action used to create long slots in the visable face. Extrusions are loaded as pairs in to the pneumatic clamping fixture. The rails remain stationary as the buffing heads traverse the length of the table and return. Finished aluminum rails are used as decorative trim on the top side of pickup truck beds. This system utilizes a Total Control Products Touch Screen for operator control interface. Buffing compound residue and aluminum dust are recovered via a dust collection system.
